close-up,n,靠近，摄影上的术语叫做‘近摄’
close quarters， 非常近的
Eg： fighting at close quarters 近战.
close call，几乎造成事故﹑ 灾难或失败
Eg: We didn't actually hit the other car, but it was a close call. 我们倒并未撞上那辆汽车, 可险些出了事.
close shave，勉强脱离危险﹑ 灾难等; 死里逃生; 九死一生.
keep/lie a close eye on sb/sth，密切注视某人[某事物].
keep close，躲藏; 不露面
Eg: He decided to lie close for a while. 他决定躲一躲.
close by， 距离不远
close on， 几乎; 差不多
Eg:She is close on sixty. 她接近六十岁了.
Eg:It's close on midnight. 已近午夜了.
close up (to sb/sth) 离（某人[某事物]）很近
Eg: She snuggled close up to him. 她紧紧地挨着他.
run sb/sth close ,接近某人[某事物]那样好﹑ 快﹑ 成功等
Eg: We run our competitors close for price and quality. 在价格和质量上, 我们差不多都赶上我们的竞争对手了.
sail close/near to the wind,干危险或近乎违法的事
Eg: He never actually tells lies, but he often sails pretty close to the wind. 他实际上从不撒谎, 但说的话常接近撒谎.
close-cropped，（指毛﹑ 发﹑ 草等）剪得很短的.
close-fitting，（指衣物）紧身的.
close-grained，（指木材）纹理细密的.
close-hauled，（指帆船）迎风航行的.
close-knit ，（指集体）（为共同的信念﹑ 利益等）结合在一起的
Eg: the ,close-knit community of a small village 小村庄中关系密切的村民.
close-run，（指竞赛﹑ 竞争等）险胜
Eg: The election was a close-run thing. 这次竞选仅获险胜.
close-set， 位置靠近的
Eg: close-set eyes, teeth 相距很近的双眼﹑ 长得很密的牙齿
close-up （照片或电影的）特写; 特写镜头
Eg: a close-up of a human eye 人的一只眼睛的特写
Eg： a television scene filmed in close-up 以特写镜头拍摄的电视画面.
